BREATHE

Have you ever been to this great site. Breathe Natural Bath and Body Products. I use their soap on my face. There's no harsh chemicals or preservatives in any of their products. I also highly recommend their all natural body salve. It contains Vitamin E which is great for the skin. I apply a small amount to my face night and day. To keep my skin looking and feeling great. OHHH and you must try the mama stick . It rolls up just like a deodorant stick but it is cocoa butter with Vit E as well. Just roll it on those legs after shaving and your legs will be smooth as a babys bum all day. No having to repeat like you would with some creams.

Check out this site as well . They are having a giveaway for liquid hand wash at:

Nows the time to Hire a Gardener

What a beautiful day it was. So I took advantage of it and put on my work gloves. I started out with a winter coat on and got to work on my garden beds. After a short time I realized how warm it was and off came my coat. I cut and I raked each bed for over two hours. I stopped for It was now time for lunch. Have you ever felt a little like " raggety" when after it been a long winter. You start using parts of your body that have not used since last fall. Like cutting with a pruner , your hand starts to cramp up, but you continue, your arms start to ache because you are using the raking motion. Get back to work , before you cease up. Lunch time is over. So back I go into the trenches of the beds and cut and rake for another 3 hours. Ok I have now had enough. My arms are falling off and my hands are cramping. I still have one more large bed to clean up. Not today. No way. It can wait. Do you think that this activity will help with my weight loss? Time will tell. Happy Sowing Linda

Last week I went for my physical.
You know the usual poke and prod and bloodwork

Well before I left the doctors office, she informed me that my weight had gone up. Go figure.! I have been out of my kitchen for two months and have basically eaten out. How do you not put on weight? Linda I want you to loose weight. OK!! Majic wand appear. Actually I'm a lifetime member of weightwatchers. So today I went and weighted in. YIKES!!!! So I paid my dues and sat in on the meeting. Back to tracking everything that goes into my mouth.
" NO MORE CHOCOLATE" !!
Then I get another call from the doctor and she asks if my kitchen is in order. I said yes, so thats the good news, whats the bad, she replys your cholestrol is high. OK I get the picture. NO MORE EATING OUT!!! Back to flaxseed, more green tea, no eggs, bacon, cheese UGH!!
Well I guess this will help in my weight reduction.

So to the sewing room I go. Put on my home economics hat and make a repro apron. That was interesting . Also here is a picture of my redwork on a flour sac towel.

Happy Eating.

Out Touring con't....

Of course I had to go near quilt shop, there I picked up a 1/4 foot that I had ordered for my Brother Sewing Machine and I saw that they had 40% off their jellyrolls and this one called out to me. Strawberry Lemonade by Me and my Sisters. I think I will make a string quilt or..................

Out Touring

This pitcher was a steal
It cost $40.00 and its made by Alfred Meakin England, and the rooster doorstop was $20.00.
We have gone through a brick doorstop that I covered and hooked a rug design on, an antique iron , the handle was chewed off. Now I don't think that fergus can chew thru cast iron. So maybe will have this one for awhile.

Today was another beautiful day. So we decided to go touring with our 49 Ford 1/2 ton.
This is the first time out for the season. We have to wait till all the salt is off the roads. We left here around ten and arrived home at 7:00pm.

Of course when we are out in this truck everyone looks . My husband restored this farm vehicle a few years ago. We enjoy go antiquing . So we went to Inglewood Antiques and this is what we bought.

QUILT AS YOU GO PART 3

Layout your blocks to form a pattern.

We are going to add the sashes.

First we cut 1" strips 8 1/2 " wide for a total of 10, then cut
1 5/8" strips 8 1/2" for a total of 10.
see pictures.

The we press the 1 5/8 in half lengthwise. We attach the folded edge to the back side (red) and the 1" to the front. see strips. You have 6 blocks accross and 8 down. label each block for eg. 1 a, 1b ,1c,1d,1e,1f.
your first strip goes on the left of 1b, and attaches to 1a as seen in picture. Turn over and press the folded edge over to 1a and hand sew in place. continue doing this till each row is completed. to be continued..........

New Addition to my Kitchen

Isn't he cute.
My pattern came from The Pickled Pepper Patch.

OOPS !! I forgot to load the pics

Here is my new kitchen . The room is 11x23. I just love. We still need to add backsplash and my curtains to the bay window.

Well has everyone had their fill of chocolate yet???

A few posts back I mentioned that our kitchen was torn apart. Actually, it was Feb 9th that we had to move out. That day the demolition started.
Exactly 2 months to the day our kitchen is finished. HORRAY!!!

We had mould under our floors and under the kitchen cabinets brewing. We did not know it. We thought we over used the swiffer on our pergo floor. But that was not the case.
Our dishwasher had a slow leak. Over months of build up the floor started to buckle. It wasn't until my husband pulled out the dishwasher that we found that the hose was split. So we called our insurance and they came out. An Engineer for mould took samples and then the demo started. If the mould is contained as it was , before the floor is pulled up it is of no harm. But once the floor is lifted its exposed and harmful, Hence our moving out. So here are some pics of the new kitchen.

Saturday, April 4, 2009

Good Saturday everyone.
It snowed here today and the wind just howelled.
It was very cold. Our Town held its Maple Syrup Festival and the crowds were small.
Tomorrow is expected to reach a high of 50 or 10 celcius. We are hoping the festival has a better day.
They put so much hard work into it. I love the taste of pure maple syrup.
Did you know it is full of Calcium which is good for our bones.
Can you taste the hot pancakes with the syrup oozing over the top. Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmm......
