Also, I really like the piece of artwork you have at the beginning of your post and the wonderful close-up of the sunflower.
-KarenMy Little Home and Gardenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01519563352358635257noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4547399955649778298.post-54915383880199156392011-09-08T21:52:30.472-04:002011-09-08T21:52:30.472-04:00Love the sunflowers and my tomatoes are taking for...Love the sunflowers and my tomatoes are taking forever too. Some mystery plants started growing in the compost and I transplanted them. We had gourds and pumpkins! The pumpkins rotted because they developed way too early, and our heat and humidity got to them. I have a couple of pear recipes on our blog, if you'd like to check them out.Jane@Cottage at the Crossroadshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07608535211366946487noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4547399955649778298.post-11933490977821022622011-09-07T19:22:55.973-04:002011-09-07T19:22:55.973-04:00Wow! It won't be long before it is time to plant the winter veggies.Needled Momhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07749314475716010490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4547399955649778298.post-32526475997165806032011-09-04T10:20:07.370-04:002011-09-04T10:20:07.370-04:00Nice to see your pictures. I put straw or dried out grass under the small little pumkin this stops them from rotting which i found happens if left on the ground. You can leave one pumkin or blossom per large vine(or off shoot).Janethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01932269990281562734noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4547399955649778298.post-56690293710988128712011-09-04T10:12:30.984-04:002011-09-04T10:12:30.984-04:00We grew corn one year and the bugs and some fungus...We grew corn one year and the bugs and some fungus got to it, was a shame, had tons of it. We still have beans, tomatoes and cucumbers growing strong, but the yellow squash got battered badly in the storm, so not sure if it will come back. I do have pumpkin flowers, but the same problem, so pumpkins growing on them. Funny, but the year we threw the old pumpkins in the garden, they seeded and grew like crazy the next year, so maybe that is the trick, lol.

DebbieWoolenSailshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08621977477193550261noreply@blogger.com
