What's New! Giveaway!!

Well what have I been up to you ask.

I have had my dh cut me 5" squares so that I could continue with my
quilt that I started be fore my fall. I can do chain piecing. But no cutting.

I'm working on a pattern from http://www.freckledwhimsy.com blog.

My wrist is still swollen , I work every 2 hours or so trying to bend it, working on my fingers and the palm of my hand doing strengthening exercises. I'm afraid this is going to be a long process.
But don't despair. Keep my chin up and I will conquer this. I am determined to get full motion. I have too. My x-stitch waits to be finished, quilts, rug hooking.

My GO! I took it to the guild mtg . Had fun demonstrating it. Sew many girls are interested in it. I'm going to have some over to play and who knows what we will accomplish. Maybe a quilt or two from this new book I just purchased.

In the meantime, I think its time for an early Christmas giveaway.

How about a paper pieced snowman kit. I would love to hear the many ways that you could use this kit.

I put mine into a pillow last year.

The rules are simple.

You must be a follower of my blog to qualify for this giveaway.

New followers are welcome.

Leave me a comment on this post telling me so. I will announce the Winner NOVEMBER 1/

Have a great weekend.

Until next time, Linda

  5. I love the snowman! I would probably make it and give it as a gift to a dear friend who sends me all of her scraps for my Sewing Circle projects at churh. She loves snowmen and actually live somewhere that has that white stuff that falls out of the sky (unlike myself - I only get hail!). I have been wondering what those GO machines are like - I need to find somewhere that demos them to see what all it can do. Thanks for the inspiration! Karin in AZ

  6. I would use the kit to make a snowman to go on a winter quilt for my sofa. The one now has a row of baskets with flowers. I think snow men would look great there for the winter since we seldom get snow her in Louisiana.

  31. I think if I won the giveaway that I would use it as the beginning of a door hanging. I have made several door sign hanging for the frontdoor. It would be great for welcoming friends and would work all winter long not just for the holidays. Exspecially considering winters are long and cold and full of snow here in Iowa.

  39. Take care of your wrists so that they heal soon. I know it isn't fun, but you don't want to do anything to make it worse or take longer to heal. Great time to watch quilt videos (e.g. The Quilt Show). And your new book looks yummy. I'm going to have to track down a copy, as I do so love scrappy quilts.

    Love your snowman!

  42. Hi Linda! I'm a new follower - heard about your blog from SewCalGal. I would give your happy snowman a mountain home with many other snowman friends! PS - Think about acupuncture for your wrist. It's not an instant cure, but it helped me avoid surgery when I had trigger finger a couple of years ago.

  43. Hi Linda, I just found your blog and enjoyed reading. I'm so sorry about your wrist but it sounds like you're managing pretty well. I just bought a Go! cutter recently and my next template purchase will probably be the 5" square - those are wonderful for lots of things aren't they! It sounds as if we have several things in common - I've been married 46 years, have 3 children and 8 grandchildren and I do love lavender. :) I have two plants in my blower bed but they didn't do well this year - too dry here. blessings, marlene

  48. Hi, have just discovered your blog (so many great blogs, etc., on the web -- so little time). Am not a fan of winter, but snowmen are some of those things that make the season bearable. And getting a whole kit is wonderful!

I bunged up my left wrist last April, and am supposed to stay in a splint until January, when surgery is an option if Mother Nature hasn't come through! And after 7 months, doesn't seem like she's working very hard.

I'm sending you a separate email with info on a woman who not only started a quilt business after her DH retired, but also started a lavender farm!

  49. I like the looks of that book...you'll have to let us see if there are any go friendly quilts in it.
