It's been snowing all day and the sanders have just come by.
Oh well it's winter still here in Ontario, Canada.
So I have been in my sewing studio sewing my little heart out.
I'm making a queen size quilt for my eldest grandson.
This is the fabric I picked out and started cutting 2 1/2 " strips.
I find that my June Tailor Shape Cut Plus works best and cuts the time in half.
The rail fence pattern goes together with ease.
Sew 3 stips together than cut at 6 1/2 " intervals. I get a total of 6 cuts from each.
I need a total of 224 6 1/2" blocks. Well I have a long way to go.
Just a reminder that my giveaway is still on til Feb 20.
Go here to enter.
Good Luck!
I have a Shape Cut Plus, but I've been afraid to use it. I fear that the plastic strips will wobble a little as I'm cutting, resulting in less accurate cutting. I'm guess that my fears are ungrounded since you use yours and are pleased with the results. I guess I need to get mine out, dust it off and use it one of these days.
ReplyDeleteI am waiting for my blocks to dry, had to wash out the blue pen, then I can get to piecing it all together. Love simple and scrappy blocks like that, great colors for a boy.

Hi! this looks like the "jelly roll" quilting method? anyway it's such an easy way to do it. I had forgotten about the different dates of your giveaways, so I'll go back and add to right side bar!
