Antiquing....

What a beautiful day we had today.

The sun was shining and the birds were singing.....

So lets start from the beginning.

Last weekend we went to our favourite flea market. There I saw this table(not antique) but I knew it had potential. So I called on the vendor thru the week and asked it he had sold this table. No to my luck he still had it. So yesterday dh and myself went and picked it up. What a steal $35.00.
Now the legs were hunter green and the top light. I'm guessing it was a kitchen table.
So I invisioned it with black legs and a dark pine top. Great for the office.
So the first thing this morning I went to the garage with my black paint and painted the legs. (see here).
Tomorrow I will sand the top and restain with minwax. Once this drys the legs will get a light sanding and waxed.

Later today our friends and their 53 ford pick up truck, and our 49 meteor car went for a lovely cruise. We ended up at a huge barn full of antiques.

Well here is what I bought to add to my transferware. A brown and white plate (country days),
a brown and white bowl (meadowsweet), a gravy boat that they threw in , a blue and white plate (the hunter), and a blue and white bowl from Italy.

Now to get dh to make my plate cupboard.....

On to my sewing ... I still have to complete Bunny HIll bom for 2009, The quilt needs to go on my quilting frame and get quilted. Not sure of the pattern yet.

I started my embroidery pattern from Crabapple Hill Designs. No time like now to start on Christmas projects.

Well thats all for now. Hope everyone has a super day with their families.
Mine come on Sunday. Looking forward to seeing them all together.

Until next time....

  1. I love all of your goodies but I can't wait to see your table when it is finished. Question though....When you say wax, what do you use?

  2. Terrific buys Linda! Your Tisket Tasket quilt looks fabulous - I haven't even finished the blocks yet. Sigh. I like your Crabapple Hill project and it's never too early to start Christmas projects. Have a super weekend, Ann :-)
